Andrew "Andy" Auld (born January 26, 1900 in Stevenston , North Ayrshire , Scotland , † December 6, 1977 in Johnston , USA ) was an American football player of Scottish descent.

Club career

Auld was active at the club level from 1919 to 1935 for numerous teams. He started his career in his native Scotland, which he left in 1923 for his new home. The longest time he played there for the American club Providence, for which he played 277 games between 1924 and 1930.

After his football career, Auld worked in the metal industry.

National team

He was also a member of the United States national soccer team and took part with her in the first soccer World Cup in 1930 .

There the midfielder came to three missions. Between 1926 and 1930 he completed five international matches for the USA. He achieved two personal goals.

Auld was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame in 1986 .
