Andrew L. Stone

Andrew L. Stone (born July 16, 1902 in Oakland , California , † June 9, 1999 in Los Angeles , California) was an American film director.

Live and act

Andrew L. Stone's film career began with lab and prop jobs. After his first directorial assignment in 1927, he worked in the production area for years before he started working regularly as a director again from 1937. Stone has staged biographies of musicians several times, but his work also includes thrillers and disaster films such as Hell's Ride . Stone made most of his films with a production company he founded.

Stone was nominated for an Oscar in 1957 for his screenplay for Murder in the Clouds .
