Ane Halsboe-Jørgensen

Ane Halsboe-Jørgensen (born May 4, 1983 in Fjerritslev as Ane Halsboe-Larsen ) is a Danish politician of the Social Democrats . Since June 2019 she has been Denmark's Minister of Education and Research .

Life

Halsboe-Jørgensen studied at the University of Copenhagen from 2004 to 2009 . From 2009 to 2011 she worked as a consultant for the Danish trade union federation Landsorganisation i Danmark (LO). In the parliamentary elections in 2011 she was elected to the Danish parliament, the Folketing , for the first time for the constituency of North Jutland . Between 2011 and 2019 she was a member of the parliamentary group chairmanship of her party. From 2016 to 2019 she was also the Chair of the Foreign Policy Committee.

In 2018, she and her party colleague Pernille Rosenkrantz-Theil published the book Det betaler sig at investere i mennesker (German: It pays to invest in people ). In it, the two criticize the calculation models of the Danish Ministry of Finance. They suggested that the consequences of social expenditure should also be included in the calculations.

On June 27, 2019, she was appointed Minister for Education and Research in the Frederiksen Government.
