Patricia Ann Granger (* 1939 in Portsmouth , England ) is an English thriller - writer .

Life

Ann Granger studied modern languages ​​at London University and then worked as an English teacher in France, Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia and Austria. She then went into the diplomatic service. Together with her husband, she worked in Zambia and later in Germany. She then returned to England with her two children, where she began working as a writer. She published historical novels under the pseudonym Ann Hulme before she became known for her crime series from 1991. Meredith Mitchell and Inspector Alan Markby starred in her first series of English country crime stories. In 1997 she started a second series with the detective Fran Varady as the heroine. Fifteen novels have been published about the couple Mitchell and Markby and seven volumes about Fran Varady. Both series have been terminated in 2004 and 2007, respectively. Her third series, started in 2006, this time from the genre "Historical Crime", revolves around Lizzi Martin and Benjamin Ross. Since 2009 she has had a modern police investigator again in Jessica Campbell. In 2019, she met Mitchell and Markby, now retired, in A Pending Murder .

Granger lives in Bicester near Oxford.
