Anna Häfele (born June 26, 1989 in Arolsen ) is a former German ski jumper who started for SC Willingen .

Career

Häfele started out cross-country skiing and switched to ski jumping at the age of nine after her brother took her to training. At the 2003 summer ski jumping competition, she competed in an international competition for the first time. In 2004 the first participation in the FIS Ladies Grand Prix followed . At the German championship held in Meinerzhagen in August 2004 , she narrowly missed the podium with a fourth place in the individual. She was able to collect her first Continental Cup points at the FIS Ladies Grand Prix 2005, which was now held as part of the newly introduced Ladies Continental Cup (COC). In the following winter of 2005/06 she also took part in several COC competitions and made it into the top 20 several times. She also took part in the Junior World Championships held in Kranj in February 2006 and came in 19th. During the Continental Cup 2006/07 she was always able to place in the points and at the end of the season she finished 31st, her best result in the overall standings. Despite the good performance in the COC, she was only on site as a substitute starter at the 2007 Junior World Championship in Tarvisio . In the summer of 2007, her performance improved significantly and she was able to celebrate her first podium finish with a second place at the COC opening competition on August 12, 2007 in Bischofsgrün . During the other summer competitions as well as in the winter of 2007/08, she was able to place in the top ten several times, so that at the end of the season she took 15th place in the overall ranking of the Continental Cup. At the Junior World Championships held in Zakopane in 2008 she was fifth. In the spring of 2008, she suffered weeks of training interruption due to a disease of Pfeiffer glandular fever . Nevertheless, she was able to take sixth place in the individual at the 2008 German Championship in Oberhof and win the bronze medal in the team competition together with her club mate Jenna Mohr . At the summer COCs 2008, a 13th place in Bischofsgrün was her best result, in the other competitions she mostly fought for a place in the second round. At the start of the Continental Cup winter 2008/09 she was able to win the first two competitions in Park City . The following in January 2009 COC competition in Schonach she placed first to fifth place, while jumping the next day it was after a chaotic jump in the first round only 28 at the one week later in Baiersbronn held competitions they showed places tens and Twelve. Then she got out of the Continental Cup in order to prepare for the upcoming World Championships. At the Junior World Championships in Štrbské Pleso , Slovakia , on February 6, 2009, she won the silver medal behind her teammate Magdalena Schnurr . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2009 she was able to win one of four official training runs, but only finished eighth in the actual competition. In the final competitions of the COC held after the World Cup in Japan, she always took places in the top ten, with the exception of one competition in Zaō , in which she was only 14th. In the overall ranking of the Continental Cup 2008/09, she was able to celebrate her best result to date with 6th place.

At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 , Häfele reached 35th place on the normal hill. For the Summer Continental Cup 2011 she reached two top 10 placings in Bischofsgrün , where she narrowly missed the podium and came fourth. At the German Championships in 2011 in Meinerzhagen , she became German champion. On December 3, 2011, she made her debut in the World Cup , reaching 16th place.

Häfele starts for the club in her home town of Willingen , SC Willingen . In August 2008 she began training at the Federal Police Sports School in Bad Endorf .

At the beginning of February 2014, Häfele achieved its best World Cup result with ninth place in Hinzenbach . Two weeks later, she finished second in the Continental Cup in Lahti , before taking the day's victory the following day.

At the end of March 2015, Häfele announced on the SC Willingen website that after long deliberations, it had decided to end its active sports career after the 2014/2015 season. Anna Häfele has been working for the Federal Police at Düsseldorf Airport since November 1, 2019.
