Annibale Frossi (born August 6, 1911 in Muzzana del Turgnano , † February 26, 1999 in Milan ) was an Italian football player and coach .

Player career

society

In 1929 Frossi began his career at Udinese Calcio . Two years later he moved to Calcio Padova . He joined AS Bari in 1933 and returned to Calcio Padova a year later. In 1935 he went to L'Aquila Calcio for a year . From 1936 he played for the SS Ambrosiana Inter Milan . With Ambrosiana-Inter, Frossi became Italian champions for the first time in Serie A in 1937/38 . In the following season he won the Coppa Italia with the Milanese . He won his second championship title with Ambrosiana-Inter in the 1939/40 season . After his time in Milan, Frossi played for Pro Patria from 1942 to 1943 . In 1945 he completed five league appearances for Como Calcio , in which he scored two goals before finally ending his career.

National team

With the Italian national team , Frossi was under Vittorio Pozzo at the Olympic football tournament in Berlin in 1936 . He scored both goals for Italy in the 2-1 win in the final for the gold medal against Austria. With seven goals in four games, Frossi was also the tournament's top scorer.

On April 25, 1937, he completed his fifth and last international A match against Hungary for the then reigning world champion Italy and scored his eighth international goal.

Coaching career

In 1946 Frossi began his coaching career at Luino Calcio. Two years later he took over SS Mortara for a year. From 1949 to 1953 Frossi was the head coach of AC Monza . He then coached AC Turin for two years . In 1956 Frossi took over the post of head coach at Inter Milan , which he gave up again the following year. In 1958 he became a trainer at CFC Genoa before taking over a year later for a short time as trainer at SSC Napoli . Frossi returned to CFC Genoa for another year in 1960. He was then head coach from 1962 to 1964 at FC Modena and from 1964 to 1965 at US Triestina .
