Annika Walter

Annika Walter (born February 5, 1975 in Rostock ) is a former German diver .

Sports

She was European youth champion and youth world champion in 1991. The highlight of Walter's sporting career, however, was winning the silver medal with her jumps from the 10-meter tower at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta . At the European Championships in 1997 she also reached second place. In 1998 she finished fourth at the World Cup in Perth . In 2000 Annika Walter was injured and missed the nomination for the Olympic Games . In 2001 Walter ended her career after the World Cup in Fukuoka . There she took 7th place.

In 1996 she graduated from the CJD Jugenddorf-Christophorus School in Rostock .

Walter's pictures for Playboy in the December 1996 issue caused a stir .

In 1996, the year she won an Olympic medal, she was entered in the city of Rostock's book of honor.

After finishing competitive sports, Annika Walter ran the Kiwi café in Rostock's old town. She has been married since July 2007 and wrote a novel called "Locationwechsel". Annika Walter worked from September 2010 to August 2013 as a trainer at the Rostock Diving Club. She gives courses as part of university sports at the University of Rostock.

In 2014 Annika Walter opened her own "Kravayoga-Studio" in the Rostock district of Reutershagen. This type of yoga combines exercises from diving and yoga mixed with Pilates and classic fitness moves.
