Plinio Anselme Brusa (born August 27, 1899 in Chiasso , Switzerland , † July 24, 1969 in Lyon ) was an Italian - French rower and gymnast .

biography

Anselme Brusa came from an Italian family in Chiasso, Switzerland . He became a gymnast and was able to become national champion in Switzerland. After the First World War he moved to Lyon in France and there joined the Cercle de l'Aviron de Lyon . At the European Rowing Championships in 1931 he won the gold medal together with André Giriat and helmsman Pierre Brunet . In the following year, the trio won the bronze medal at the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles in twos with helmsman . The three rowers also won the French Championships in 1927 and 1931.
