Antoine Andrieux

Antoine Andrieux (born August 30, 1916 in Bastia , † May 10, 1983 in Marseille ) is a French politician . He was a member of the Senate from 1974 to 1983 .

He was politically active for the first time in Marseille in the 1930s. Andrieux's political companions, who was always aware of his Corsican origins, were politicians such as Irma Rapuzzi , Francis Leenhardt , Alex Roubert and the later mayor and presidential candidate Gaston Defferre . In 1934 he joined the SFIO and was at times also militant. After the end of the Second World War he was initially a taxi driver. His political career began in 1953 when he entered the city council of Marseille. In 1965 he became director of the Port Autonome de Marseille . After he had applied for a seat in the Senate in the Bouches-du-Rhône department in 1971 , he moved up in 1974 for the resigned Roger Delagnes . In 1980 he was re-elected. After a brain operation in 1981 he was clearly weakened and died in 1983. His successor was Bastien Leccia , who was also of Corsican origin .
