Antonio Juliano (born January 1, 1943 in Naples ) is a former Italian football player .

Career

society

Antonio Juliano played almost his entire career at SSC Napoli . At the age of 19 he made his debut in the first team of the Neapolitans. He was runner-up twice and won the Italian Cup in 1976. In 1978 Juliano moved to Bologna FC for a year and let his career end there.

National team

Internationally, Antonio Juliano made his debut for Italy in 1966. He took part in three world championships ( 1966 (from the group phase), 1970 (final), 1974 (from the group phase)) as a substitute, but completed only one game. This was the 1970 final when Italy lost to Brazil and he was substituted on. At his only European championship in 1968 in his own country, Juliano won the title. Under coach Ferruccio Valcareggi he had played all six qualifying games against Romania, Switzerland and Cyprus and was also on the side of captain Giacinto Facchetti in the quarter-finals against Bulgaria in April 1968 in the successful team. Only in the 2-0 replay of the final on June 10 in Rome against Yugoslavia was he absent due to injury.
