Archangelus Löslein

Archangelus Löslein OFMCap (born November 3, 1903 in Alzey as Paul Löslein ; † February 13, 1982 ) was the founder of the Catholic youth camps at the Buchschirm near Hilders in the Rhön in the diocese of Fulda .

Life

education

After acquiring the bricklayer journeyman in 1923 he entered in 1924 into the Capuchin Order and was 1930 in Münster for priests ordained.

Early priestly ministry

From 1931 he worked as a pastor in Lithuania and after the Second World War he was a chaplain for evacuees and expellees (from 1944) in Rotenburg an der Fulda and (from 1948) in Wichmannshausen .

In the following years he was parish curate , (from 1951) in Bebra and (from 1954) in Wichmannshausen and Netra .

Tasks at the diocesan level

From 1958, Father Löslein was released from parish work in the diocese of Fulda, in particular for church youth work. In this function he also founded the diocesan children's and youth camps at Buchschirm near Hilders in the Rhön, which are still offered today by the Catholic Young Community (KJG) in the diocese of Fulda on the campground of the Thomas-More-House .

In 1959 he became rector and chaplain in the St. Michaelshof family education center in the Hilders district of Unterbernhards, and in 1967 he became a spiritual director in the Fulda seminary. From 1969 he was a spiritual adviser to the Family Association of German Catholics.

Honors

In 1969, Father Löslein received the "Gold Cross of Honor" from the Federation of German Catholic Youth (BDKJ) for his many years of voluntary work as the State Curate of the German Scouting Association Saint Georg (DPSG).
