Ari Sandel

Ari D. Sandel (born September 5, 1974 in Los Angeles County , California ) is an American director with Israeli roots. In 2007 he won the Oscar for Best Short Film with West Bank Story .

Growing up in Calabasas ( California ), Ari Sandel studied at the University of Arizona in Tucson , where he earned a degree in Media Arts. In addition, he obtained a diploma in Middle East Studies.

Ari Sandel directed the documentary Wild West Comedy Show: 30 Days & 30 Nights - Hollywood to the Heartland (2006), in which u. a. Vince Vaughn played along. The short film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival .

Sandel has toured the Middle East several times, which is also a central aspect of political organizations to which he belongs.
