Armin Peter Faust (* 10. May 1943 in Weiden ) is a especially in close - Hunsrück -space known artists and writers .

Life

After attending primary school in Weiden, Armin Peter Faust began an apprenticeship as a gemstone engraver in Idar-Oberstein , where he became familiar with artistic working techniques. On the Berufsaufbauschule he achieved GCSE and made in 1967 at Ketteler College in Mainz his high school . The military service , he studied the German language and literature , art history , history and archeology in Tübingen and Saarbrücken . After his legal clerkship , he worked as a teacher at the two Idar-Obersteiner grammar schools and at the college for jewelry and gemstone design.

Since 1976 Faust has participated with his artistic work in exhibitions in the Nahe-Hunsrück region.

In 1991 he received his doctorate with the thesis Iconographic Studies on Wilhelm Busch's Graphics and worked from 1987 to 1991 as a lecturer for jewelry and cultural history at the University of Applied Sciences in Idar-Oberstein.

Faust has also been an avid marathon runner since 1984 and took part in the New York Marathon in 2003 .

Armin Peter Faust has been retired since 2009, but continued to work at the Heinzenwies grammar school until 2010 .

Awards

Armin Peter Faust received the greatest recognition as an author in 1995 with the sponsorship award from the Association of German Writers in Rhineland-Palatinate for the novella Der Flügel der Nike .

In 2009 he was awarded the culture prize of the city of Idar-Oberstein.
