Arthur Surridge Hunt (born March 1, 1871 in Romford , Essex , † June 18, 1934 in Oxford ) was a British papyrologist .

His life's work includes the discovery and publication of many papyri , especially the Oxyrhynchus Papyri , at archaeological sites in Egypt, which he made together with Bernard Pyne Grenfell . From 1913 he was Grenfell's successor as professor of papyrology at Oxford . In the same year he was elected a member ( Fellow ) of the British Academy .
