Artjom Gilz (* 1987 in the Soviet Union ) is a German actor and model of Russian origin.

Life

Origin and education

Gilz was born in the Soviet Union. He grew up with his little sister in the Lower Saxon town of Cloppenburg and graduated from high school there. Already in his youth he practiced various martial arts a . a. Kickboxing , grappling , sambo and judo . He started in the German Judo Bundesliga for PSV Berlin . He won various national and international championships. From 2007 to 2011 he studied "International Business" at the Berlin School of Economics and Law and at the Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge . He completed his studies with a bachelor's degree (Hons).

In 2013/2014 he completed his acting training with a focus on Meisner Technique at the Robyn Kay Acting Studio in Toronto . He also received private training in scene studies and voice training in Toronto. After his return to Berlin in 2014, further acting training and coaching followed.

Cinema and television

Artjom Gilz has worked in German and international productions as a leading and supporting actor. He had his first film role in Renegades (2017). In the debut film by director Franziska M. Hoenisch Club Europa , which was made in 2015/16 as a co-production of the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy with ZDF for Das kleine Fernsehspiel and premiered in January 2017 at the Max Ophüls Preis film festival in Saarbrücken , Gilz took on one of the four main roles. He embodied the American Jamie, who, out of the need to do something good and because of his bad conscience, to not get involved enough in society, takes in a refugee from Cameroon with his two roommates in the shared flat in Kreuzberg .

In February 2016, Gilz was seen for the first time in German TV production in the ZDF television series Frühling , where he played the young French slave laborer René Bertrand from Chamonix in the flashbacks in the television film Hundertmal Frühling . This was followed by episode roles in the ZDF productions SOKO Leipzig (2016), in which he could also be heard in his native Russian, and SOKO Wismar (2017).

Gilz was one of the guest actors in the ZDF “Herzkino” television series Ella Schön (2018), which focuses on Annette Frier as an Asperger's autist ; he played the lagoon fisherman Marko Backhaus, whose wife is expecting a child from his best friend David ( Max Radestock ). In the TV movie Billy Kuckuck - Margot Must Stay! (2018) with Aglaia Szyszkowitz as bailiff in the lead role, Gilz embodied a young "snuggly" prospective lawyer in a wheelchair who evicted an 80-year-old lady because of her own needs .

He starred as Johnny in the 10-part series Milk & Honey (2018). In the second season of the successful historical television series Charité (shooting time: November 2017 to early March 2018), which will be broadcast for the first time from February 2019, Gilz plays one of the main roles as the line-loyal, Aryan pediatrician Dr. Artur Waldhausen, who tries to vaccinate disabled so-called " Reich Committee children ". Model

Gilz also works as a model for various photographers and advertising campaigns. Gilz became known in particular through the international advertising campaign I Am Nature of the World Wildlife Fund and as the face of a large poster campaign for the partnership agency Parship.de .
