al-Shahaniyah ( Arabic الشحانية, DMG aš-Šaḥānīya ) is one of eight parishes in Qatar . The main settlement is the city of the same name as -Shahaniyah . The municipality had a total of 187,571 inhabitants at the 2015 census.

al-Shahaniyah borders three municipalities: al-Chaur in the north, Umm Salal in the east and ar-Rayyan in the southeast.

The community emerged in 2014 from parts of ar-Rayyan.
