Asia (mythology)
Asia ( Greek Ἀσία ) is a Oceanid of Greek mythology , a daughter of Oceanus and Tethys .
In the library of Apollodorus and with Aeschylus she is the wife of the titan Iapetus and mother of Prometheus , Atlas , Epimetheus and Menoitios . In Hesiod the Oceanid is as a mother Klymene called.
According to Herodotus , she is the wife of Prometheus. The continent of Asia is said to have been named after her.
