At-Tibnī ( Arabic التبني, DMG at-Tibnī ) is a small town in Deir ez-Zor governorate in Syria .
The settlement , which was founded at the end of the 19th century at the earliest, is located on the right bank of the Euphrates , which has dug a wide green flood plain around forty meters deep into the Syrian desert plate. The place is about 40 km northwest of Deir ez-Zor on the main road (M 5) towards ar-Raqqa , 2 to 3 km before the junction to the Roman-Byzantine ruined city of Halabiya .
The alleged al-Kibar reactor was located 11 km to the north .
