August Crone-Münzebrock (born May 17, 1882 on the Münzebrock farm ; † April 17, 1947 in Osnabrück ) was a German farmer and politician ( center ).

Life and work

His father was the farmer and politician and member of the Landtag, Hermann Münzebrock , who had married into the Crone farm. Crone-Münzebrock attended elementary school in Essen from 1889 to 1893 and at the same time received private lessons . From 1894 he went to the private boarding school in Fürstenau , also attended the commercial school in Osnabrück and from 1903 began studying agriculture and economics at the universities of Leipzig and Jena . On June 6, 1904, he joined the Catholic German student union Sugambriaat. He graduated in 1906 with the exam to graduate farmer and his doctorate in 1907 in Jena to the Dr. phil. Several years of agricultural practice followed.

From 1906 Crone-Münzebrock was involved in the peasant movement . From 1917 he was a managing member of the board of the Association of German Farmers' Associations. He was also a presidential member of the Association of German Farmers' Associations, Deputy Chairman of Rentenbrief-AG and the Deutsche Bauernbank, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Central Association of Farmers' Associations in Germany and member of the board of the Oldenburg Farmers' Association. Crone-Münzebrock was also a member of the supervisory boards of the Association of German Farmers and the Potash Company and acted as deputy chairman of the supervisory and administrative board of the German Rentenbank. He was instrumental in the introduction of the Rentenmark , which also bore his signature.

He was imprisoned during the National Socialist era.

Political party

Crone-Münzebrock joined the Center Party and was a member of both the Reich Committee and the Prussian Committee of the party.

MP

From 1921 to 1924 Crone-Münzebrock was a member of the Prussian state parliament . From May 1924 to November 1933 he represented his party in the Reichstag .
