August Jauner from Schroffenegg

August Jauner von Schroffenegg (born February 10, 1835 in Vienna ; † June 2, 1907 there ) was an Austrian administrative officer .

biography

His father was the court engraver Franz Jauner (1808–1889), who was called "Viennese Cellini" because of his artistry. His brothers were the actor and opera director Franz von Jauner (1831–1900) and the court engraver Heinrich Jauner (1833–1912).

In 1859 he entered the state service and served in the Lower Austrian Lieutenancy . In 1870 he was appointed to the Ministry of the Interior as Secretary of the Second Class . In 1877 he was promoted to the section council and in 1833 became the chancellery director of the manor in the Reichsrat . In 1886 he was the emperor with the title of nobility "of Schroffenegg" ennobled , one year later his appointment as Councilor .

From 1893 to 1895 he was entrusted with the management of the press department in the Presidium of the Council of Ministers, in 1895 he again took over the office management in the manor house and was awarded the title of Section Head in 1897. He was held in high regard in the manor's presidium for his knowledge of human resources and business acumen.

In 1902 he became president of the Allgemeine Rentenanstalt in Vienna.

His estate was auctioned on November 11, 1907 in Vienna. Below was a portrait of the Madonna by Lucas Cranach the Elder .
