August Karl Holsche

August Karl Holsche (also August Carl , von Holsche since July 6, 1798 ) (* 1749 in Hanover ; † January 21, 1830 in Memel , Prussian Lithuania ) was a Prussian administrative officer and topographical writer.

Life

Holsche enrolled on March 24, 1766 to study law at the University of Göttingen and then completed a two-year traineeship in Minden . He then worked for 15 years, over the period 1772–1787, as Hof-Fiskat (tax officer) in Tecklenburg . During this time he collected documents and historical information, which he processed into a book about the county of Tecklenburg and the state of the same in the 18th century, which was published in 1788. In 1787 Holsche was assistant councilor in Bromberg in West Prussia and in 1793 government councilor in Petrikau in South Prussia . In 1796 he was appointed government director and the secret judicial council in Białystok , about 180 kilometers northeast of Warsaw . At his request, in 1798 he was raised to the nobility. In 1811 he became director of the city and regional court in Memel, where he died in 1830 at the age of 81.

On October 19, 1795 in Breslau, Holsche married Eva Sophia, born v. Wlömer, who had previously been married to a Mr. Hanebek. Holsche was awarded the Order of the Red Eagle .
