Aurelio Galli
Aurelio Cardinal Galli (born February 26, 1866 in Frascati , Papal States , † March 26, 1929 in Rome ) was an Italian cardinal curia .
Life
Aurelio Galli studied at the Pontifical Gregorian University , the subjects Catholic theology and philosophy . He received on 2 April 1889, the sacrament of the priesthood and entered the management service for further studies Vatican one. From 1893 to 1899 he worked in the department for extraordinary ecclesiastical affairs, and from 1899 to 1903 he worked in the secretariat for Latin-language correspondence, which he headed from 1903 to 1908. In 1903 he had major responsibility for the planning and implementation of the funeral ceremonies of Pope Leo XIII. 1908 Pope named him Pius X to the canons of the Lateran Basilica and the Apostolic prothonotary , 1911 he appointed Aurelio Galli secretary for correspondence between the Holy See and the royal houses.
Pope Pius XI took him in 1923 as a cardinal deacon with the titled deaconry Sant'Angelo in Pescheria in the college of cardinals . Aurelio Galli died on March 26, 1929 in Rome of complications from a stroke and was initially buried on Campo Verano . On the first anniversary of his death, he was reburied in Frascati Cathedral .
