Aurelio Samorì

Aurelio Samorì (born January 20, 1946 in Faenza ) is an Italian composer.

Samorì studied instrumentation, composition, piano and electronic music at the Gioachino Rossini Conservatory in Pesaro with Ottavio Faccenda , Boris Porena , Eliana Marieddu and Walter Branchi and attended the Darmstadt summer courses of Karlheinz Stockhausen , György Ligeti and Henri Pousseur . He then attended composition courses with Franco Donatoni at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome .

He won several international composition competitions, including a. first prize at the Premio Varese (1979) and at the Ennio Porrino (1986 in Cagliari) competition . He received numerous composition commissions, including a. from the RAI , the Nuove Forme Sonore di Roma , the Amici dell'Accademia Chigiana in Siena and the Gruppo da camera Caronte . His works have been performed at festivals of contemporary music in France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Greece and the USA. a. published by Edizioni Musicali Suvini Zerboni and Ricordi .

Since 1977 Samorì has been teaching composition at the Conservatory of Pesaro.
