The trainer suitability ordinance is an ordinance of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research , which was issued on the basis of the Vocational Training Act. It regulates the conditions under which a person can be recognized as a trainer within the meaning of the Vocational Training Act.

In the trainer suitability ordinance, the previously existing separate regulations on trainer suitability in the areas of public service , housekeeping , agriculture and commercial economy are summarized for federal law .

The Vocational Training Act (Section 28 (1) sentence 2 BBiG) stipulates that training in Germany is only allowed to those who are personally and professionally suitable. The aim is to ensure the quality of the training. The trainer suitability ordinance specifies what exactly the required vocational and work pedagogical knowledge is and how proof of this knowledge can be provided.
