The Australian U-23 national soccer team is a selection team of Australian soccer players . It is subordinate to the Australian Football Association FFA and represents it internationally at the U-23 level , for example in friendly matches against the teams of other national associations, at U-23 Asian championships or the football tournament of the Summer Olympics . Before the Australian Association moved to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) in 2006 , it was a member of the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC).

So far, the team has qualified for the Olympic football tournament five times. In 1992 she reached fourth place in her first participation. Australia took part in the U-23 Asian Cup three times and made it to the quarter-finals in 2014 .

Eligible to play are players who have not yet reached the age of 23 and who are Australian citizens .
