The Moseltal motorway triangle (abbreviation: AD Moseltal ; short form: Moseltal triangle ) is a motorway triangle in Rhineland-Palatinate , which is located near Schweich . Here the federal highway 602 ( Trier - Schweich) merges with the federal highway 1 ( Heiligenhafen - Hamburg - Cologne - Saarbrücken ) running in north-south direction .

geography

The closest cities are Schweich and Trier (both in the west). The closest places are Kenn in the west and Longuich , Longen , Mehring (Mosel) and Riol in the east. The triangle itself is located in the municipality of Longuich in the Trier-Saarburg district . It lies between the Eifel in the north and the Hunsrück in the south. If you follow the A1 from here into the Hunsrück, you will pass the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park .

The triangle is located directly between two river crossings. In the north is the crossing of the Moselle over the Moselle valley bridge , in the south the Feller Bach is crossed over the Fellerbachtal bridge. The Moselle Valley motorway triangle is located in the midst of vineyards in the Moselle wine region (wine-growing region) .

history

The triangle was built in the 1980s as part of the construction of Autobahn 1 and Bundesautobahn 48 between Saarbrücken and the Dernbacher Dreieck . So it is one of the youngest Autobahn triangles in Germany .
