Axel Brademann (born December 29, 1955 ) is a former German soccer player in the area of the GDR soccer association . In its highest league, the Oberliga , Brademann played for 1. FC Union Berlin .

Athletic career

Brademann's football career began in 1965 in Fernneuendorf, Brandenburg, and continued in 1967 at SG Sperenberg / Kummersdorf. From 1970 to 1974 Brademann played as a goalkeeper in the junior team of Fichte Baruth. With the eligibility to play for the men's division, he was delegated to the second-rate company sports community (BSG) Motor Babelsberg for the 1974/75 season . There he played as a striker in the GDR league until he was drafted into military service in November 1976. In the following 18 months he was able to continue playing football in the forward / motor Teltow syndicate in the third-class Potsdam district league . After he was discharged from the army in April 1978, he returned to Motor Babelsberg until the end of the 1978/79 season. This season he was BSG Motor's top scorer with ten goals.

In the summer of 1979 Brademann was delegated to the first division club 1. FC Union Berlin. Coach Heinz Werner used him from the start as a replacement for the aging Michael Paschek as a center forward. Brademann immediately fitted into the new environment and played all 26 point games. Only his goal yield with only two hits left a lot to be desired. At the end of the 1979/80 season, 1. FC Union had to relegate to the GDR league. In the league season 1980/81 Brademann was able to improve his goal quality with nine goals, but played only 15 of the 22 point games, where he was also substituted five times. It was only towards the end of the season that he was given more consideration again, so he was used in all eight games of the promotion round. Despite this increase, Heinz Werner no longer planned with Brademann after the botched promotion round for 1981/82, who was sent back to Motor Babelsberg.

In Babelsberg, Brademann played second division football again from 1981 to 1985. In 1982 he was again Babelsberg's best shooter after 1979 with 19 hits. In 1985, at the age of 29, he moved to the third division club BSG Turbine Potsdam in the district league, where he was again used as a goalkeeper.
