Civilian Power ( Russian Гражданская сила  / Grazhdanskaya sila ) is a political party in Russia . It was founded in 2002 and took part in the elections to the Russian parliament for the first time in 2007 . In 2008 it united with two other parties to form the new liberal party " Just Cause ".

The party was founded in 2004 under the name Free Russia (Russian Свободная Россия ) and declared the representation of the interests of small and medium-sized enterprises to be its primary goal. On October 8, 2006, the party was able to take the seven percent threshold in the elections in Novgorod Oblast and thus enter the regional parliament there. In February 2007, called Free Russia in Civilian Power to with the intention to set up their own candidates in the Duma elections.

The party chairman was the well-known Russian lawyer Mikhail Barschtschewski (* 1955), who was also the authorized representative of the Russian government at the Constitutional Court , the Supreme Court and the Supreme Arbitration Court of the Russian Federation. The party’s founder, Alexander Ryavkin, was Lieutenant Governor of Oryol Oblast from 2014 to 2015 . The well-known children's book author Eduard Uspenski (1937-2018) was also a member of the party .

The party sits down u. a. for the legalization of prostitution in Russia.

In 2012 the party was officially registered. In the 2014 elections, the party received a seat in the state parliament of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug .
