Babanka

Babanka ( Ukrainian and Russian Бабанка ) is an urban-type settlement in the southwest of the Ukrainian Cherkassy Oblast with about 2,300 inhabitants (2014).

The settlement forms its own settlement council within the Uman district and is located on the M 12 highway 183 km southwest of the Cherkassy oblast center and 22 km east of the Uman district center . In 1991 the place received urban-type settlement status. The 53 km long Rewucha ( Ревуха ), which belongs to the river system of the Southern Bug , flows through Babanka .

Until 1959 the place was the Rajonszentrum of the Babanka Rajons of the same name .
