The Badek or Badik , Bade , Badee , Badi Badi , Badik Badik , Badit is a dagger from Indonesia , from the island of Java.
description
The Badek has a straight, curved, bulbous or flamed, single or double-edged blade. The blade is smooth or hollow ground. The place is pointed or rounded. The blades are usually made of Damascus steel (Pamor). Some versions of Sulawesi have a gold inlaid figure on the blade called a "Jeko". The handle is made of wood, horn, or ivory, is similar to a pistol grip, bent at a 45 to 90 degree angle, and is often decorated with carvings. The "Badek" is used as a stabbing and cutting weapon . They are worn on the right or left side of the body. There are many versions that are made and used throughout the Indonesian archipelago.
