Badminton only plays a minor rolein the Republic of Nauru .

The Nauru Badminton Association (also known as the Nauru Badminton Federation ) is a member of the Badminton Oceania Continental Association and the Badminton World Federation (BWF). In February 2014, a mixed national team took part in the Oceania Championship for the first time , finishing sixth ahead of the teams from Tonga and Kiribati .

After the national association had been inactive for several years, a new board of the Nauru Badminton Union was elected on September 27, 2019 , led by Marissa Cook. The sport was then officially recognized by the Nauru Olympic Committee .
