coat of arms
On February 9, 1977, the Ehringshausen community in the Lahn-Dill district was awarded a coat of arms with the following blazon , which was carried by the former Ehringshausen community until the merger of the communities of Breitenbach, Daubhausen, Ehringshausen, Katzenfurt, Kölschhausen and Niederlemp on January 1, 1977 became: In gold a red gear, covered with a rising blue tip.
Meaning : The red cog in gold is intended to indicate the importance of the iron, wood and plastic processing industry for the community, which was known in earlier centuries for its iron ore extraction, which existed until 1956, and has therefore not been a pure agricultural community for a long time was. The blue tip represents a stylized church tower and is intended to remind of the late Gothic chapel in Ehringshausen, which in its actual architectural form could not be included in the coat of arms.

Former synagogue
A Jewish community was formed in Ehringshausen in the 18th century and existed until after 1933.
The synagogue , a prayer room measuring 4.00 x 5.35 m, was located in a building on Bahnhofstrasse. In 1938 the interior of the prayer room was desecrated and devastated during the November pogroms. The former synagogue was preserved after 1945 and was demolished in 1975 due to its disrepair. In November 1988, a stone was erected on the site of the former synagogue to commemorate the Jewish citizens who became victims of National Socialism in 1942 .

leisure
Dill Park
The Dillpark is located on the southern outskirts of the district of Dillheim and extends as part of the Dillaue over the districts Auf'm Schlüsselacker , In den nassen Sadeln , Vor dem Weingarten , An dem Ufer and In der Schmitt .
The park serves as a local recreation area, especially for the residents of the Am Dillpark retirement and nursing home and the senior citizens' housing complex, as well as the children of the school and kindergarten.
The Dillpark is a natural retention area and thus also serves as flood protection in the Dill area.
Leisure center
Next to the sports hall of the comprehensive school is the Haverhill-Bad, an indoor pool with a 25-meter pool. Together with the Roquemaure Stadium and the community gym, they form the leisure center.
Dillaue
In 2012, a dirt bike route was created and inaugurated as part of a “dirt bike and fitness in the Dillaue” project . A path along the Dill was also expanded and outdoor fitness equipment for all generations was set up.
Economy and Infrastructure
traffic
The federal motorway 45 runs through Ehringshausen with the Ehringshausen junction . The B 277 runs almost parallel to this through the districts of Katzenfurt , Dillheim and Ehringshausen as well as the Siegen – Gießen railway line with the Katzenfurt and Ehringshausen stations (Kr Wetzlar) .
Ehringshausen station
The Ehringshausen (Kr Wetzlar) Bahnhof is the most important intermediate station on the route between Wetzlar and Herborn. It has two platform tracks on a house platform and a side platform . The reception building , a simple plastered building with a flat gable roof, is now a cultural monument according to the Hessian Monument Protection Act . The Mittelhessen-Express ( RB 40 ; Dillenburg - Frankfurt Hbf ) stops there every hour . On weekdays in the morning and in the evening a train of the Main-Sieg-Express (RE 99) also stops in Ehringshausen and thus offers commuters a fast connection to and from the Rhine-Main area . In 2012, all points were expanded, with the exception of a northern and southern connection between track 1 and 2, as well as passing track 3 and all other side tracks of the station. Overtaking is therefore only possible in the direction of Sinn using the continuous main track 2 and is therefore only possible to a very limited extent. In addition, a new outer platform was built in the direction of Gießen and can be reached through an underpass under the railway tracks. This means that passengers no longer have to cross the tracks to access the trains in this direction.
