The Seebrugg station is the terminus of the three-track railway and is named after the hamlet of Seebrugg . It is assigned to station category 6.
history
The station was put into operation on December 1, 1926 as the terminus of the Dreiseenbahn. By adjusting the Interregio -Zugpaars Höllentalbahn on 14 December 2002 the train set was parked overnight in Seebrugg, the station lost business significance.
Seebrugg used to be the transshipment point for goods traffic for the Badische Staatsbrauerei Rothaus , which is about five kilometers away. Since 1976 this freight traffic was moved to the road, two beer refrigerator trucks with Rothaus advertisements stood on a section of track at the end of the station. In 2012, the IG 3-Seenbahn put the wagons back on a drivable track.
In addition, the station previously served as a loading point for wood and uranium ore from the nearby Krunkelbach mine in Menzenschwand .
In 2016, the passenger station was extensively renovated together with the other stations of the Dreiseenbahn, with the platform being increased to 55 cm and shortened to 140 m.
Infrastructure
The station has a platform track, which is referred to as track 1, but operationally number 6. This is a special feature of the radio control operation. There is a track barrier between track 6 and the rest of the track system . This track blocking has a key dependency to cover signal to the train station and can be stored for maneuvering with the permission of Zugleiters in Titisee.
The reception building has largely been preserved in its original state. In addition to the (currently closed) train station restaurant , there is also a waiting room on the ground floor , which still has its baggage handling and ticket office , as well as some operating rooms. There are three staff apartments on the upper floor. In the former goods shed , which adjoins the reception building, there is now a diving base for diving in Schluchsee.
The freight yard has a loading lane with a head and side ramp, a weighbridge , a loading gauge and a water crane . An investigation pit was also available, but was removed in advance of the track renovation due to dilapidation. There is also a locomotive shed on the site.
The tracks, including the locomotive shed track, were originally completely spanned with overhead lines. However, this was dismantled in 2008 with the exception of track 6.
business
The station Seebrugg is every hour of regional trains of the DB Regio AG line Freiburg (Breisgau) - Titisee served -Seebrugg.
Seebrugg is also the starting point for some regional bus routes from Südbadenbus that go to Sankt Blasien , Neustadt (Black Forest) and Waldshut .
Conversion to the museum train station
In 2008, the extensive track systems at the former Seebrugg freight yard were threatened with demolition. Founded in the same year Interest Group 3 lakes lane e. V. was able to prevent this and finally completely renovated the tracks in 2014. The site is to be expanded into an open-air museum and will represent the typical terminus of a branch line from 1945 to 1960. The association also runs regular special trips on historic steam trains from Seebrugg.
