The Triesdorf station is the station of the city Merkendorf and the market Weidenbach in Franconian Lake District ( Middle Franconia ) and is located in the district of villages Note Triesdorf station . The station is on the Treuchtlingen – Würzburg railway line and was opened in 1859.

history

The station was opened as part of the Ansbach - Gunzenhausen railway line in 1859. In the 1950s the station flourished as a loading station for the cabbage from the Merkendorfer Krautland . Today it derives its importance from the Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences .

Today's look and use

Since June 2, 1996, the Ansbach - Gunzenhausen section, and thus the Triesdorf train station, has been part of the greater Nuremberg transport network . The station has three platforms equipped with platforms , with the third exclusively used by passing and overtaking or overtaken trains. There are also several side tracks, some of which have been partially dismantled.

In 2007 and 2008 the city of Merkendorf modernized the station as part of the village renewal . Above all, a new house platform was built north of the previous one and an underpass from the western to the eastern part of the village. The underpass had become necessary because the footbridge over the tracks to the central platform was very dilapidated. Triesdorf station is fully integrated into the Bayern-Takt , i.e. H. there is a train every two hours and direction at least daily between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m.

traffic

Triesdorf station is served by regional trains of the Mainfrankenbahn every hour. At night, a pair of freight trains from Ansbach reach the station to serve the local sidings .
