content

A list of the names of the insurgents who are calling for the exile's return has fallen into the hands of the Countess, who is currently traveling to Venice. That's why Marko now wants to speak to the Countess himself and travels incognito with some loyal followers to the lagoon city. In the meantime, however, the yacht of the countess was ambushed by Marko's fiancé Zlata (the daughter of the rebel leader) and her entourage, but only she was supposedly able to escape. In truth, however, Zlata is disguised as Countess von Durazzo on her way to Venice. Marko falls in love with the supposed Countess of Durazzo, which annoys Zlata, especially since he is also betraying his fatherland. When the corsair asked him to return to Illyria, since the decisive battle was about to take place there, his fiancée unmasked.

After winning the fight, Marko wants to go back to Zlata, but she has since traveled to Tyrol with friends. After some love deals by the secondary characters, Zlata is finally persuaded to reconcile with her fiancé.
