history

In the 13th century the place was owned by Wolfram von Dornberg . After his death in 1288, these goods were bequeathed to his sons-in-law to the von Heideck family . The Heilsbronn monastery received a number of slopes there in 1311 . The Teutonic Order also owned there, as is evident from a Salbuch (1343) of the Teutonic Order Commander Nuremberg in the description of the Eschenbach office (1 hatch , 1 fiefdom, 1 farmstead).

In the 16-point report of the Heilsbronn Vogtamt Merkendorf from 1616, 4 goods were specified for Bammersdorf that were subordinate to the Merkendorf administrator's office. The other landlords were not listed. At that time the place was in the Fraisch district of the Ansbach Oberamt Windsbach .

In the official description of the Nuremberg nursing office Lichtenau from 1748, five subject families were specified for the place. Two of these belonged to the main team of Saxony of the nursing office.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were seven subject families in Bammersdorf, two of which were Ansbachian. At that time, the place already belonged to the Fraisch district of the Ansbach District Office . From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

As part of the community edict, Bammersdorf was assigned to the Großbreitenbronn tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Großbreitenbronn , which was founded a little later . On May 1, 1978, Bammersdorf was incorporated into Merkendorf as part of the regional reform .

In 2006 the village community inaugurated their village community center. From 2011 to 2013 the city of Merkendorf carried out a simplified village renewal .

religion

The inhabitants of Bammersdorf are predominantly Protestant and parish according to Our Lady in Merkendorf. Until 1740 they were parish in St. Alban (Saxony near Ansbach) . Since the way was too long and too strenuous, especially for the newborns who were carried there for baptism, the decision was made to go to the nearby Merkendorf as the baptism site. A chapel, which was dedicated to St. Stephen , stood at the junction to Großbreitenbronn.

The residents of Roman Catholic denomination are parish to Liebfrauenmünster (Wolframs-Eschenbach) .
