The 32nd Bandy World Championship took place from January 29 to February 5, 2012 near Almaty, Kazakhstan .

The world association had awarded the World Cup to Almaty in January 2011. The venue for the A-World Championship games is the Medeo stadium . The games of the B World Championship will take place in the central stadium of Almaty. In 2011 the bandy game of the Winter Asian Games 2011 took place in the Medeo .

Sweden defeated defending champions Russia 5-4 in the final. Kazakhstan secured bronze with a 10: 5 over Finland in the small final.
