As Baniza [ banitsɐ ] ( Bulgarian Баница , other realizations: Banica , Banitsa , Banitza ) a refers to puff pastries of Bulgaria , which in other Balkan countries in a similar form as " Gibanica known" and Burek , Börek or Pita is related close .

The baniza can contain different fillings. A filling made from brine cheese ( Сирене Siren ) with or without spinach is very common . The baniza is usually baked in a round or triangular shape. For this purpose, yogurt ( Кисело мляко ) are served. It is the main part of Christmas and New Years dinner. In the baniza for these festivals, strips of paper with future interpretations are baked.
