Barbara Hambly

Barbara Hambly (born August 28, 1951 in San Diego ) is an American writer of novels and short stories that can be mainly assigned to the fantasy genre , but also to science fiction . She also works as a screenwriter .

biography

Hambly grew up in Montclair , California and has two siblings, an older sister named Mary and younger brother Ed. In 1975 she graduated from Riverside University in California with a Masters in Medieval History . During her studies, she spent a year in Bordeaux . She married science fiction writer George Alec Effinger in 1998 . From 1994 to 1996 she was President of Science Fiction Writers of America .

  • nominated a total of 13 times for the Locus
