The ballpark Rheinaue is in Bonner leisure park situated Basel ball stadium . It is located in the Bad Godesberg district of Hochkreuz .

Main field (115 m) of the Rheinaue baseball stadium

The stadium is a complex of two baseball and two softball fields , which are arranged like a four-leaf clover. Since 1999 it has also been the venue of one of the two federal performance bases of the German Baseball and Softball Association . The main field has grandstands for 1,500 spectators, the side field has 300 seats. The fields are the home ground of the Bundesliga baseball team Bonn Capitals . In 2001, alongside the Cologne riding and baseball stadium and the Weyersberg baseball park in Solingen, it was one of three venues for the European baseball championship : on the occasion of the European championship, the stadium was converted and expanded for 1.05 million DM . Among other things, the opening and final games were played in the Bonn stadium. In 2009 the European Junior Baseball Championship took place in the stadium.

The Rheinaue baseball stadium will be the main venue for the 2019 European baseball championship alongside Solingen . This also serves as the European qualification for the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020 . The stadium was extensively rebuilt during the baseball game-free time in autumn / winter 2017/18 and, in particular, provided with floodlights . In addition, the second place was converted to the standard for international games, in particular the backstop was enlarged. However, due to ambiguities in the question of the financing of the City of Bonn's share of 1.1 million euros - of the 1.9 million euros required in total - and the associated delay in the city council's decision-making, execution was delayed.
