Bastian Baker (born May 20, 1991 in Lausanne ; bourgeois Bastien Kaltenbacher ) is a Swiss singer-songwriter and guitarist .

Career

Bastian Baker got a professional contract with the ice hockey club HC Friborg-Gottéron after graduating from sports high school . He had previously started studying French and history. However, he decided to focus on the music. Claude Nobs , co-founder of the Montreux Jazz Festival , discovered Baker when he was playing in a bar in Zermatt . He made it possible for Baker to play on a small free stage at the next Montreux Jazz Festival. In 2012, Baker won the Swiss Music Award for “Best Breaking Act National” and the “ Prix ​​Walo Newcomer”.

In 2011 he released his debut album Tomorrow May Not Be Better . It reached number 3 in the Swiss charts and was awarded platinum . The single I'd Sing for You reached number 9 and was in the Swiss charts for 36 weeks.

In 2012 he took part in the third season of the French dance show Danse avec les stars .

In 2014 he was a member of the jury for the Belgian edition of “The Voice” on the Walloon broadcaster RTBF .

On September 30, 2015, he launched his own fashion label together with heidi.com and Metroboutique.
