Bell 205 is a civil version of the Bell UH-1 military helicopter from the US manufacturer Bell Helicopter .

history

The Bell 205 is the further development of the Bell 204 , which was used by the US armed forces and their allies from the mid-1950s. The first flight of the new model took place on August 16, 1961, the delivery to the military began under the designation UH-1D in 1963. More than 12,000 copies of the model (both civil and military) were built up to the 1980s , also through licensees in other countries. Many of the helicopters are still in use today.
