Benedict Jacob Römer-Büchner (born May 5, 1792 in Frankfurt am Main ; † April 28, 1863 there ) was a German lawyer and local historian .

After completing his law degree, Römer worked as an accessist from the end of 1815 , i.e. without salary, in the Frankfurt city registry, which later became the city archive . After the engagement to the daughter of the lay judge and Syndikus Büchner, Römer applied for a permanent position as a second archivist, but the creation of this position was not approved. His application for the office of land clerk and court clerk for the city of Frankfurt am Main, which he held from August 1818 until his death, was more successful . He published numerous treatises on the history of Frankfurt and its surroundings and collected art and antiquities, the latter mostly from Heddernheim . After Römer-Büchner's death, this collection was sold to the Count of Solms-Rödelheim.
