Bennet "Benno" Wiegert (born January 25, 1982 in Magdeburg ) is a former German handball player and today's coach.

In 1998 Wiegert ran for the first time in the professional team of SC Magdeburg (SCM) and established himself in the team. With the Magdeburg team he was German champion (2001), Champions League winner (2002) and club European champion (2002 and 2003). In addition, Wiegert was multiple A and B youth champion and was 2000 school world champion. He played five times for the national team and scored 14 goals. From 2004 to 2006 he ran for the Bundesliga club Wilhelmshavener HV . In the 2006/07 season the professional handball player played for the twelve-time German champions VfL Gummersbach . From the 2007/08 season until the end of his career in 2013, Wiegert played again at SC Magdeburg. Since the end of his career he has been working as a youth coordinator at SC Magdeburg. When the SCM had to complain about several injury-related failures in October 2013, Wiegert made his comeback. Since November 2015 Wiegert has been working as an assistant trainer for the DHB selection team born in 2000/01. Wiegert has been training the SCM Bundesliga team since December 2015. Under his leadership, Magdeburg won the DHB Cup in 2016 .

Wiegert played on the left wing and left backcourt positions .

He got to know the handball game through his father Ingolf Wiegert , who was, among other things, German (GDR) champion and Olympic champion (1980). Both he and his former trainer Alfreð Gíslason - who trained him at SCM - had the greatest impact on Benno's athleticism.
