Berlingske Media (until June 2008 Det Berlingske Officin ) is a Danish media company based in the center of Copenhagen . What it claims to be the largest news dissemination publishing group in Denmark owns a large number of newspapers, local radio stations and websites. Around 1100 of the 2367 jobs are located in the Danish capital. The company's flagship is the oldest daily newspaper in Denmark that is still published today , Berlingske from 1749, which is also one of the three largest reputable newspapers in the country.

Det Berlingske Officin was founded in 1950 as the parent company for the daily newspaper Berlingske Tidende (today Berlingske ) . Until 2000, a large part of the shares were in the hands of the Danish groups AP Møller-Mærsk , Carlsberg and Danske Bank , until the Norwegian media company Orkla Media (now Edda Media ) increased its stake to 87%. In 2006 Orkla Media sold its shares to the British media group Mecom Group . Lisbeth Knudsen, who is also editor-in-chief at Berlingske , has been the chief executive officer since 2007 . In 2008 the group was renamed to its current name. At the same time, 1,100 employees moved into the converted and newly renovated building in Pilestræde , the headquarters of the Berlingske newspaper .

On June 30, 2014, the Belgian media company De Persgroep took over the Mecom Group and with it Berlingske Media.
