Bernd Guggenberger

Bernd Guggenberger (* 1949 in Blasiwald ) is a German political scientist, sociologist, essayist, visual artist and professor of political science as well as rector at the Lessing University in Berlin .

Life

Guggenberger graduated from the St. Blasien college and studied German, history, politics, sociology and philosophy in Freiburg and Berlin. He taught political science and sociology at the universities of Freiburg, Bielefeld and Osnabrück . In addition to a wide range of journalistic works, Guggenberger wrote numerous essays and books, including Sein oder Design. On the dialectic of clarification (Berlin 1987), The human right to error (Munich 1987), When we run out of work (Munich 1988), Simply beautiful: Beauty as social power (Berlin 1995). Guggenberger organizes exhibitions of his pictures and objects, publishes poetry and art prose on the radio, in magazines and anthropologies. Guggenberger was a professor of political science at the Free University of Berlin and is currently teaching at the Lessing University in Berlin, where he is rector. He writes for Die Zeit and the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung . Guggenberger lives in Woltersdorf near Berlin.
