Bernd Hofmann (football official)

Bernd Hofmann (born December 26, 1968 in Hennigsdorf ) is a German football official.

Life

Hofmann studied sports marketing and sports management at the University of Leipzig from 1990 to 1994 . After completing his studies until 1998, Hofmann found his first job as managing director of the OSC Berlin .

In 1998 Hofmann began working as managing director of 1. FC Union Berlin . During his tenure, the club reached the final of the DFB Cup in 2001 , was able to move into the UEFA Cup , and in the same season rose to the 2nd Bundesliga . On November 1, 2003, he was released from his duties. During his term of office, the successful restructuring of the traditional club, which until then had always been financially troubled, fell.

On June 28, 2005, 1. FC Magdeburg announced that Hofmann had been appointed manager. Here he played a key role in the construction of a new stadium in 2006 until he finally left the club in 2009.

On May 20, 2010, Hofmann took over the position of CEO of FC Hansa Rostock . The club was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in the first year of its tenure , but could not hold this division in the following season and thus played again in the 3rd Football League . After the board of directors had not been discharged at the general meeting on November 25, 2012 and a new supervisory board had been elected, Hofmann asked for the termination of his contract according to reports from the Ostsee-Zeitung . In December 2012 this request was granted. Hereinafter also explained Sigrid Keler her resignation as CFO at FC Hansa. Since October 2014 Hofmann has worked as managing director of Füchse Berlin Sportpark GmbH, the marketing company of Füchse Berlin eV and since July 2015 also as sports director of the large sports club Füchse Berlin eV

Hofmann is married to the former Croatian handball player Olivera Oroz and has three children with her.
