Bernd Reichelt

Bernd Reichelt (born March 11, 1957 in Zeitz ) is a German professor for construction management and project management at the Faculty of Construction at the HTWK Leipzig . In 1990 he was a member of the first freely elected People's Chamber .

Life

Bernd Reichelt was born on March 11, 1957 in Zeitz. After attending the Polytechnic High School in Zeitz from 1963 to 1971, he switched to the Extended High School in Zeitz, later in Bernburg, and passed the Abitur examination in 1975. This was followed by the 18-month military service until 1976. Since Reichelt was obviously not immediately admitted to the course, he first worked as an assistant nurse in medical facilities from 1977, and later as a plant operator in a concrete slab factory. In 1979 he was able to begin his studies at the TH Leipzig , which he graduated in 1984 with a degree in civil engineering. Reichelt then worked as a scientific assistant at the civil engineering section there until 1989 and was awarded Dr. ing. PhD. Due to his political commitment, he was a city councilor without a department in the Leipzig city administration from February 1990 to May 1990, and from March to October 1990 a member of the People's Chamber. In 1991 he returned to the TH Leipzig, where he worked again as a research assistant until 1992. He then went into business for himself and was managing director of an engineering office for building construction and a project development company from 1993 to 1999, and from 1997 to 1998 project developer in a property developer. In 1998 he was offered a professorship at the HTWK Leipzig. Reichelt has been Professor of Construction Management and Project Management at the Faculty of Construction at HTWK since then. He teaches in the areas of project management / project control, construction contract drafting, turnkey construction, communication, presentation, contract drafting simulation game construction store.

Reichelt is divorced and has two children.

Political activity

At the end of the GDR, Reichelt was involved in the Leipzig environmental movement . In 1989 he became a member of the GDR Green Party . He represented these from December 1989 to February 1990 at the round tables of the district and the city of Leipzig. For the Volkskammer election on March 18, 1990 , he ran as the top candidate on the joint list of the Green Party and the Independent Women's Association (UFV) for the Leipzig district (constituency 09). With 1.9% of the votes cast, the list won a mandate that Reichelt assumed.
