Bernhard A. Macek
Bernhard A. Macek (* 1975 in Vienna ) is an Austrian historian and author .
Life
Bernhard A. Macek studied history and German philology at the University of Vienna and then completed a doctorate in history. Since 2001 he has worked in the Imperial Apartments , the Sisi Museum and the Silver Collection at the Vienna Hofburg . In addition, Macek heads the specialist department for Viennese urban history at the Austrian Archeology Association (ÖAB). He also works on publications on historical topics. The focus is on the Habsburgs, the Viennese court with its elaborate ceremonies and the Vienna Hofburg.
Macek's lecturing activities took him to the University of Vienna , the Philosophical-Theological College Benedict XVI. Heiligenkreuz , to the city of Heusenstamm (D) on the occasion of the celebrations "250 years of the Imperial visit", to the Alt Wiener Bund (Terra Humana), to the Italian Cultural Institute in Vienna, to the Austrian National Bank , the Austrian Chamber of Commerce (for austriaguides), to Madonna di Campiglio (I) for the festival "Mistero dei Monte - Vostre Altezze" etc.
Occasionally Macek can be heard or seen in interviews on the radio, for example on Ö1 in Apropos Music: “Joseph Haydn in the Grand Duchess' Apartments” with Johannes Leopold Mayer, on WDR in ZeitZeichen “3. 4. 1764 - Joseph II is crowned king ”with Christiane Kopka, on ORF III: a guide sequence in“ Out of the frame.
