Bernhard Loeffler

Bernhard Löffler (born May 23, 1965 in Regensburg ) is a German historian .

Bernhard Löffler studied history, German and economics. In 1994 he received his doctorate under Dieter Albrecht at the University of Regensburg with a thesis on the Bavarian Chamber of Imperial Councils from 1848 to 1918. In 2001 he completed his habilitation at the University of Passau with a thesis on the Federal Ministry of Economics under Ludwig Erhard .

From 2005 to 2007 Löffler represented the Chair for Modern History and Contemporary History at the University of Magdeburg . In March 2008 he was appointed adjunct professor at the University of Passau. From April 2008 Löffler taught as a teacher for special tasks at the Chair of Modern History at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg , before he was the Chair of Modern History at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich until 2010 . In 2010 he then took up the chair for modern history at the University of Bonn .

Since April 2011 Löffler has been teaching as professor for Bavarian regional history at the University of Regensburg. He turned down appointments to the University of Bamberg and the University of Würzburg .
